HOME BATTERY INSTALLATION / BIRMINGHAM

Home battery installation.
Store energy for later.

Home battery installation in Birmingham and nearby towns. Add storage to your solar panels, install solar and a battery together, or explore a standalone battery charged from the grid.

A system matched to your usage, tariff and existing equipment.

THREE ROUTES TO STORAGE

You don’t have to start with a new solar installation.

We’ll help you compare the route that fits your property.

NEW SOLAR + BATTERY

Plan them together

Coordinate panel capacity, inverter and battery storage from the outset. Store some daytime generation for use later.

EXISTING SOLAR

Add a battery

Start with your inverter, system age, monitoring and export arrangements. Compatibility and installation work affect the options.

BATTERY WITHOUT SOLAR

Charge from the grid

A suitable tariff can let you charge at lower-cost times and use stored energy later. Savings must allow for losses and charging costs.

SIZING YOUR BATTERY

More capacity isn’t always more value.

Choose storage around the electricity you can realistically use.

  • Usable capacity (kWh): the energy available to use.
  • Power (kW): how much the battery can supply at once.
  • Daily usage: especially the hours after solar generation falls.
  • Charging opportunities: spare solar and any low-cost tariff window.
  • Compatibility, installation space and future plans.

We’ll assess these together. A larger battery that regularly sits unused may add cost without a worthwhile benefit.

COST & VALUE

Understand the complete installed cost.

Your quote should make clear which battery and inverter are included, the electrical work, installation location, monitoring and any backup equipment.

A new combined system

Assess the cost and benefit of solar and storage together, and compare it with solar alone.

A retrofit battery

Measure the extra benefit of the battery against your existing solar system, without counting savings you already receive.

A standalone battery

Compare charging purchases with avoided higher-rate electricity, after efficiency losses and other costs.

POWER CUTS

Backup needs to be designed in.

A battery does not automatically keep a property running during a power cut.

Backup capability depends on the specific battery and inverter, isolation or switching arrangements, and the circuits selected. Tell us which appliances matter to you so we can explain what a suitable design would involve.

HOW IT WORKS

A clear route from first question to installation.

Your roof, electricity use and plans for the property come first.

01 / TALK IT THROUGH

Start with your property

Tell us your postcode, what you want to achieve and whether you’re looking at solar, batteries or both.

02 / CHECK THE DETAILS

Get a considered proposal

We assess suitability and explain the recommended equipment, installation work and the assumptions behind any savings estimate.

03 / PLAN THE INSTALLATION

Know what happens next

Agree the scope and timing, then receive an explanation of your system, monitoring and ongoing support.

Battery installation questions

Can a battery be added to any solar system?

Many existing systems can be assessed for a battery retrofit, but the right arrangement depends on inverter compatibility, electrical configuration, space and your existing export arrangements. We’ll check these before recommending equipment.

What information should I have ready?

Your postcode, annual electricity consumption or a recent bill, the make of any existing inverter, and an idea of when you use most power are useful. Photos of the inverter and installation area can help later in the assessment.

Is battery storage always worth it?

No. Low consumption, a small difference between tariff rates, limited surplus solar or a high installed cost can make the return less attractive. A useful proposal should show the assumptions and alternatives.

Can I use a battery with an EV charger?

They can be considered as part of the same property energy system. The design needs to account for the charger demand, battery power limits, your tariff and when the vehicle is charged.
