SOLAR MAINTENANCE & REPAIRS / BIRMINGHAM
Get your solar system
back on track.
Solar panel maintenance and repairs in Birmingham and nearby towns. If generation has fallen, your inverter shows a fault or monitoring has stopped, we can help assess what is happening and explain the next step.
Start with the symptom.
Low or missing generation
A change in weather, shading or equipment operation can affect output. Compare the pattern over time and tell us when the change started.
Inverter warnings
Make a note of the displayed code, equipment make and model. A warning needs interpretation in the context of the system.
Monitoring problems
A missing app reading does not always mean the panels have stopped generating. Communications and the energy system may need separate checks.
DIAGNOSIS BEFORE REPLACEMENT
Understand the fault and the options.
An assessment should establish what needs attention before replacement equipment is recommended.
Tell us about the original installation, any recent work and the behaviour you have noticed. Depending on the system and access, the assessment may include the inverter, connections, monitoring, visible condition and generation history.
If replacement parts or further investigation are needed, the scope and next steps should be explained. Compatibility, manufacturer support and safe access can affect what is possible.
Useful information for your enquiry.
- Your postcode and whether the system serves a home or business.
- The approximate installation date and any available handover documents.
- Inverter and battery make and model, if known.
- The exact warning or a description of the change in performance.
- Generation or monitoring records from before and after the issue.
You can start with a description. We can explain which photos or documents would help the assessment; there is no need to access the roof or open electrical equipment.
Maintenance that follows the system’s needs.
Keep an eye on your monitoring and retain the installation and warranty documents. A sustained unexplained change in generation is more useful to report than one cloudy day. Follow the manufacturer’s maintenance guidance and ask for an assessment if anything appears damaged or unusual.
Cleaning is not a universal fix for low output. The need depends on the site and condition, and roof access requires appropriate equipment. We can discuss whether inspection, electrical work, monitoring support or another action is appropriate.
Solar repair questions
Can you look at a system installed by another company?
Yes, we can discuss existing systems that we did not install. Share the equipment details and available paperwork so we can confirm the assessment scope. Parts availability and manufacturer support can affect the options.
Does low output mean I need new panels?
Not necessarily. Weather, seasonal daylight, shading, inverter behaviour and monitoring issues can all influence the readings. Diagnosis should come before a recommendation to replace equipment.
Can you help with an inverter or battery fault?
Tell us the make, model and symptom. We assess the equipment and compatibility before confirming the work we can undertake; we do not promise to repair every brand or fault.
Do you offer emergency solar call-outs?
Please call to discuss the issue and current availability. If there is immediate danger, smoke or fire, keep clear and contact the emergency services. Do not touch damaged equipment or attempt electrical repairs.
Can you check a system before I add a battery?
Yes, an existing-system assessment can inform a battery retrofit. See our guide to adding a battery to existing solar for the information that helps.
Tell us what your system is doing.
Include your postcode, equipment details and a brief description of the issue. We’ll discuss the appropriate next step.
